Visas
Iraq now uses an e-visa: you apply online before travelling, receive the visa by email and present it on arrival at Baghdad, Basra, Najaf or Erbil airports or at the land borders. The Kurdistan Region visa differs from the federal one, so check the current rule before you fly; we help with this for free.
Checkpoints
There are checkpoints between governorates and at city entrances; always carry your passport. A private driver does the talking.
